Please read and understand these important notes prior to proceeding:


  • This guide is divided into three (3) sections.  The first section discusses logging into the MFA system and needs to be completed under all circumstances.  The second section discusses how to download the Google authenticator app to your iPhone if you do not already have an authenticator app on your phone.  The third section discusses how to create and add your token to the app on your phone.
  • you will receive two (2) QR codes during enrollment.  The first QR code is to download the Google Authenticator App.  The second QR code is the code you need to scan into the authenticator app.
  • If you already have an authenticator app on your phone that you like, please use it and continue to the third section of this document.  If you DO NOT have an authenticator app on your phone please start at section 1 and download the Google Authenticator App when instructed.
  • This will require both a computer on the XSport network and your phone.
  • This guide assumes an iPhone.  If you do not have an iPhone please follow the directions as best as possible substituting steps as needed.  XSport IT does not officially support mobile devices other than iPhone.





------------SECTION 1-----------



To enroll in XSport's multi-factor authentication system please start by visiting (from your XSport network connected computer):

enter your email username and password and click login




------------SECTION 2-----------



Once logged in successfully you will this screen (DO NOT CHANGE ANY VALUE):



Open the camera app on your phone 

and hover over the QR code until the "View in App Store" link pops up then tap on the link



You will be presented with the Google Authenticator app, install it, then open it






Tap on Get Started at the bottom


Tap on Scan a QR code


You should see a screen like this:




------------SECTION 3-----------



Go back to your computer and click on Enroll Token



You will see this screen:



Scan this QR code by placing it in the green box of the Google Authenticator App on your phone



If successful you should see a screen saying XSPORT-MFA (your username) and a 6 digit code like this:



This code is your One Time Password or OTP


Go back to your computer and click on logout



To validate your OTP works do the following:


Login again:



You should now be asked for the OTP from the Google Authenticator on your phone.  Enter it here and click login:



If successful you should receive NO ERROR and a screen like this:



You've successfully enrolled in XSport's MFA system.


If you've not been successful please open a ticket with the Helpdesk



When logging into VPN you will now be presented with this 2 step process:



Enter username and password, click OK



Enter OTP from Google Authenticator App
